- Self-described as "Always a Freakshow", Area 51 claims to perpetually offer the "best '80s night ever!" And apparently something must be working because in the Best of Utah Awards, it received honors as the #1-ranked dance club in the "Reader's Choice" category in both 2008 and 2009.
The club has special theme evenings and events like "Fetish Night", "80's Insanity", "reMix Madness", "Alternamash", ladies nights, and more. Located at the intersection of 400 West and 500 South street, this is safely tucked out of the chaos of downtown and its parking worries. However, be sure to call a cab if you need a lift back to the center of town.
Area 51 is a popular place for huge private parties that accompany such events as the Outdoor Retailer Show. Ladies are always admitted free of charge if they arrive before 11pm.
