Burt's Tiki Lounge

• Located right on State Street and just south of 700 South Street, Burt's is perfectly stationed to be somewhat of a dive bar -but in the safe, hip sense. Burts will never attract Top 20 national bands, but it definitely draws some of the city's best local groups, and keeps a very active schedule particularly on the weekends. A relatively small and dark venue, this offers a perfectly grungy setting for small bands ranging from punk rock to country in style. Order up some cheap tequila, chase it with a beer, and catch a cab or a bus home.
  
  If you're in the area, you might as well consider starting the night out with a dinner and some of the 200+ beers available at the nearby Bayou -a Cajun restaurant with pool tables and frequent jazz acts.
  
  Though Burt's doesn't have its own website, it does keep a profile on Myspace; check that for an upcoming schedule of artists.
