NileGuide Expert tip:
Check online to familiarize yourself with their weekly specials. Plan to dine during off-hours if you want to miss the crowds.
- Situated in the basement level of a downtown building, this restaurant and bar combination would be easy to miss if you didn't know what you were looking for. However inconspicuous, this subterranean sushi eatery and beer bar is one of the most popular among Salt Lake City's younger crowd.
Because the restaurant's 50% off (and other) specials draw huge crowds, the wait for a table can be 30-60 minutes on some nights. However, if you're willing to relax at the bar and drink a few beers, this wait can be quite enjoyable. The beers themselves (also sometimes sold for 50% off) are huge, and are served with never-ending peanuts.
You can sit on the bar side while you wait, and then crunch across peanut shells to your table in the separate dining room. Or if you're in a rush, just order your meal directly to the bar.
If you're looking for a quiet, romantic evening, this is not the place. But if you're in the mood to have some beers and inexpensive sushi rolls, this is the perfect venue.
