    Metropolitan features adventurous handcrafted New American cuisine in a modernist's dream setting and is considered by many to be "Utah's Culinary Jewel." Owned & operated by Karen Olson, Metropolitan has been honored with a James Beard nomination for Outstanding Restaurant Design (1996) & presented dinner at the James Beard House in 2001 & 2007. Other notable honors include DiRona, AAA Four-Diamond & Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Metropolitan's Culinary Collective consists of Justin Shifflet & Chris Durfee who are inspired by Utah's amazing rang of high quality seasonal ingredients. They create playfully sophicticated meals including a nightly seven course tasting, a la carte & martini lounge small plates. (Bon Appetit Feb 08) Metropolitan also features value priced menus on Monday nights(called Local's Appreciation) with complimentary corkage.
