• Type: Farms
  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Come hungry to the Harvest Festival.

  • Description:

    • Located northwest of Salt Lake City (and southwest of Ogden), Black Island Farms grows onions, corn, cabbage, carrots, squash, gourds, and pumpkins. Not only do they produce a hefty portion of vegetables on their 400 acre property, but they also sell these through farmers markets and community supported agriculture programs. If you sign up for their CSA plan, you can receive farm fresh vegetables every week during growing season.

During the fall months, Black Island Farms puts on a Harvest Festival. This takes place from the end of September through the end of October and features many wholesome activities for families and people of all ages. Included in the festival is a corn maze, a separate "haunted" maze, hayrides, pig races, a corn cannon, bonfires, and more. Come hungry to the festivities, as you can also purchase farm goodies here like roasted peppers, freshly popped corn, crispy nachos, and hotdogs.

Check online for the Fall Harvest schedule, as well as to sign up for their CSA program.
