Description:

  • Built in 1893, this two-and-a-half-story turreted mansion was the home of David and Bertha Eccles. Throughout her life, Bertha made it known to her family that she wished the house to be used for education and cultural enrichment. It became the home of the Ogden Community Arts Council in 1959.

Changing art exhibits in the Main House feature works by local, regional, and national artists in a variety of media. The Carriage House gallery offers local arts and crafts, such as paintings, pottery, fabric art, and jewelry. The Renaissance Complex presents ongoing educational programs and houses the ticket office for the Ogden Symphony and Ballet West. Outside is a sculpture and flower garden complete with a fountain and benches so you can rest your weary feet and enjoy the view. Allow an hour and a half, and call ahead for a schedule of events and information on classes in the visual arts and dance.
