With 200+ beers on there menu and the best sweet potato fries in town, the Bayou is a must for any beer enthusiast.
Description:
With over 220 bottled beers and 30 plus draft beers, the Bayou lives up to its slogan as Beervana. Definitely the largest selection of beers in Salt Lake City, and more than you'd find most anywhere else for that matter. And if you're hungry, too -you can get a full dinner or just some Cajun-style finger food. You must start out with the sweet potato fries - they are absolutely amazing and go great with any style of beer. The Bayou can get crowded on weekend nights so get there early to claim your table and enjoy live jazz and blues and plenty of beer. The Bayou is a 21 or older establishment. Our Local Expert Says:
The fabulous acoustics of Abravanel Hall make this historical concert hall an amazing place to listen to the Utah Symphony or other international performers.
Description:
Completed in 1979 after three years and $12 million of construction, this modern-style building impresses from the first sight. A sheer-walled triangular wedge with massive glass-walled lobby, this has a 100-foot-tall glass sculpture visible from the street. This sculpture, called Olympic Tower, was created by Dale Chihuly and cost over $600,000. Inside, Abravanel Hall holds up to 2,811 audience members in its concert hall acoustically designed by Dr Cyril Harris. But the outside views of this structure are just an appetizer for its brilliant sounds inside. Home to the Utah Symphony, this venue maintains a busy performance schedule. Originally called "Symphony Hall", this structure plays host to other interesting and worthy events that are not strictly musical. Its designer, Harris, also designed the acoustics for the Kennedy Center and Metropolitan Opera House, Abravanel hall has a reputation for particularly bright acoustics. Check online for a complete concert and events schedule.

A great, intimate music venue for local and regional acts
Description:
The Urban Lounge is a real hipster delight. One of Salt Lake City's most active music venues, it hosts several musical acts a week - though it doesn't have the capacity for world-famous groups, it does attract some of the area's best local groups, as well as some nationally-famous indie artists. Plus, unlike some of the other stages in town, this is a 21+ only establishment and therefore offers a full bar. Definitely not a hoity-toity place; but is really "in" with the cool guys. Now -like the rest of Utah's bars- a smoke-free environment. Standing-room only, with a few high-top tables and bar stools.
When Bob Log comes to Salt Lake, this is where he plays.

Newly renovated -now a handsome, open, and clean space for adult fun.
Description:
Formerly one of Salt Lake's bordering-on-divey bars, this newly-renovated bar has recently added 2000 feet of space -and simultaneously retained its Irish affinity. Once a place with not even a single window, this newly expanded, beautiful bar has plenty of sitting space, pool tables, and attractive brick and woodwork that allows its historic location to shine. A great social hang, this offers darts, billiards, flat screen t.v., live music, foosball, and a FULL bar. Certainly one of the most handsome bars in town now! Check the new website for an events and music schedule.

The Hogs is located close to the Cottonwood Canyons and is a great place to chill after a day on the mountain. The bar also has a gorgeous patio.
Description:
Located in the cottonwoody bottoms beneath Big Cottonwood Canyon, this bar and grill offers pitchers, hearty food, and live music that sometimes keeps people in their ski pants long after the sun goes down. Due to its location and heavily-wooded interior, it has an out-of-Utah ambiance. In the summer, take your meal and drink outside and enjoy the patio at what has been oft voted Salt Lake's "Best Outdoor Bar." If you feel like catching a show, check the music calendar online. Or just drop by for some pizza, seafood apps, sandwiches, or nachos.
As Hog Wallow puts it, it's "the neighborhood bar that you would leave your neighborhood for".

Salt Lake's Best Summer Evening Event!
Description:
Formerly hosted at the Gallivan Center these totally free, evening concerts take place every summer during the second half of the season. Called the Twilight Series, these concerts grew so popular that they outgrew this venue and needed to be moved.
Headlining artists have included extremely popular, internationally-known artists such as Michael Franti, Yonder Mountain String Band, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and other similar-caliber artists.
These concerts now take place in Pioneer Park, in northwest downtown and take place on Thursday evenings. Beer is sold at the concerts, so be sure to designate a driver. Or even better, just ride your bike to the event, saving yourself both the hassle of parking your car and worrying about driving under the influence.
Gates open at 5pm; the show begins at 7pm. Due to city ordinances, concerts are punctual and usually end just after 9pm -so be on time!
A word of warning: guards do check bags and purses at the entry gates, so don't try to sneak anything illicit in!

Some of Salt Lake City's best and most popular outdoor summer concerts.
Description:
Sitting on the northeastern end of Salt Lake City, and nestled into the foothills, Red Butte Garden is tucked into the northeastern corner of the University of Utah. With more than two hundred species of plants, a newly designed, copper-wrapped main building, this provides a beautiful environment for a casual stroll or educational tour. Open all year. If you're here in the summer, be sure to check online for their summer concert lineup. Taking place during the extremely pleasant Salt Lake evenings, internationally famous artists (such as John Hiatt, the Indigo Girls, and Herbie Hancock) perform to packed audiences in their outdoor theater. Bring a picnic blanket, some cheese, crackers, and wine! If you have a little extra time and energy, you can depart from the gardens to join up with the miles of crisscrossing trails of the Bonneville Shoreline system.

The Canyons abuts to some of Utah's best lift-accessed backcountry skiing.
Description:
Park City has three different ski areas, and each has its specialty. The Canyons represents Park City's biggest and best powder stashes, as well as some of the Wasatch's best lift-served back country access. With seven unique mountains within its boundaries, The Canyons is one of Utah's largest resort with more than 3,700 lift-served skiable acres. (Powder Mountain, in Ogden Valley, has 7,000 skiable acres, but only when counting those access by snowcat, shuttle bus, and other means.) In terms of vertical drop, it is second only to Snowbird, with 3,190" - that's more than half a mile of lift-served elevation. Located just north of Park City proper, The Canyons Resort is a village in and of itself with full-service hotels, restaurants, shops, and more.
Backcountry skiers should strongly consider visiting The Canyons with a touring kit. This is Park City's most preferred gate to some of Utah's best out-of-bounds skiing. -

Utah's "fanciest" skier-only resort.
Description:
Of Park City's three resorts, Deer Valley is certainly the "poshest" in every aspect, with its several on-presmises restaurants and lodges winning national -and international- awards for excellence. Beyond the fine cuisine and luxurious accommodations, this mountain specializes in service -even on the slopes. The resort has six different mountains, 3,000 vertical feet, and 2,026 acres of skiable terrain. Yes, it is a ski hill, but don't worry; Deer Valley's groomers create some of the most velvety corduroy imaginable. Guests are greeted by staff, who wait to carry skis to the hill. They'll even put on your boots if you ask. Private and group lessons are available. No snowboarding allowed is allowed at Deer Valley.
During the summer, the the resort offers some excellent lift- and self-served mountain biking trails. With an elevation reaching almost 9,600 feet, these slopes offer a great reprieve from the sometimes stifling summer heat in the valleys below. -
