  • With its wide range of cutting-edge dance parties, concerts and performances, plus its American-style bar and central location, The Republic is one Salzburg nightspot worth knowing - if only as a place to stop in for a coffee or snack during the daytime. But don't miss its entertainment offerings. Just over the square from The Republic, on Gtstättengasse, one among a number of lively nightspots, is the Soda Club.

In the Neustadt (Right Bank), along historic Steingasse, there are a number of clubs and, especially, wine bars. For wine lovers, we particularly recommend Cave le Robinet. With regular tastings of its carefully curated selections, Cave Le Robinet is a terrific place to explore continental wines. Or, going along Linzergasse, turn into the cosy wine bar Di Renzi. Not far from there is Restaurant Wasserfall with its inviting bar.

For bräustübl, Die Weisse, also on the Right Bank, is hard to beat. We've included it here rather than Sternebräu, off the heavily trafficked Getreidegasse, or the more widely talked about Bräustübl of the Augustinian Brewery, for its neighbourhood atmosphere. It's worth going the extra few blocks to seek it out. And for an off-the-beaten track experience, especially in an historic setting, it's hard to beat the Casino Salzburg Keißheim, in Taxham, for gaming as well as people watching.
