Description:
The setting is a gracefully proportioned 100-year-old villa, located in a residential suburb within a 20-minute walk southwest of Salzburg's historic core, across the Salzach River from the city's center. Sheathed with ocher-colored stucco and flanked with roses that climb over wrought-iron supports and a small garden, it's small-scale, personalized, conservative, and a bit sleepy. Bedrooms are more lavish than you'd expect, with wooden floors, theatrical draperies, deep upholsteries, and a decor that you might have expected in a conservative and well-mannered private home. Some have four-poster beds draped with fabric, and in some cases, the bathrooms are unusually plush. Regardless of the category of the room you opt for, all bathrooms have tub/shower combinations. Other than breakfast, no meals are served here. The hotel is entirely nonsmoking.
