Horse Pond (Pferdeschwemme)

Horse Pond (Pferdeschwemme) - Salzburg

  • Description:

    • Apart from its visual charms, the most important quality of the Pferdeschwemme is the space on the balustrade. Sitting here relaxing and watching the traffic pass by is highly recommended when you need a break. The pond and the front facade of the royal stables were built by Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. In 1932, it was restored and changed - the balustrade was constructed, the horse frescoes on the wall were painted, and a new pedestal for the Horse and Horsetamers sculpture was built.
