East of the city center, both the SBC Center and the Freeman Coliseum are located here and are home to the San Antonio Spurs during basketball season and the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo every February. The east side also boasts Fort Sam Houston, home of the U.S. Army Medical Corps and Brooke Army Medical Center.
