Chester's Hamburgers - San Antonio

  • Description:

    • Somewhat reminiscent of an old western saloon, Chester's customers belly up to the bar to order their burgers. A wall of beer behind the counter entices with thoughts of a cold one and a big-screen television displaying a constant stream of sports hulks like a linebacker in the front dining area. There are no dancing girls or rowdy drinkers, but the impression is that of an adult burger joint rather than your typical kid-friendly malt house. The burgers are wrapped in paper and served on trays--there are no plates. Messy condiments, especially chili, soak through the wrapper and you literally end-up eating off the table, yet the muddled experience somehow makes the meal tastes better. The best of the mess is the green chili sauce which is always served on the side. It has a nice hot "zing" without a blistering after-burn.

    •

      Hamburgers truly made your way.

    • Hamburgers like I remember when I was a kid. Made fresh to order and french fries that are my favorite. I can never eat a whole hamburger and french fries here so consider sharing....
