• Mexicans in Texas have established themselves and brought along some delightful customs and festivals that have been absorbed by the locals. Fiestas Patrias, the Mexican Independence Day, is one of the greater celebrations, especially in San Antonio, with parades and street parties taking place all over the city. Various organizations come together to take part in these events, among which the Organization of Latin Americans, Fiestas Patrias Organization and San Antonio Parks Department feature prominently. Events include recitals, sporting events, bands and cultural programs, where all can participate. Celebrations can go on all night on the 15th and 16th of September, so be ready for a long party.
