Bayside Trail

Description:

• The Bayside Trail covers two miles along the eastern side of Cabrillo National Monument, along San Diego Bay. Starting at the parking lot by the Visitor's Center, the mostly paved trail passes the Old Point Loma Lighthouse, where interpretive panels tell visitors about the light's history. Descending through areas of coastal scrub toward the tip of Point Loma, the trail leads toward the ruins of the U.S. military defense system which was active during World Wars I and II and follows an abandoned Army road through the monument.
