Black Historical Society of San Diego

Description:

  • The Black Historical Society of San Diego hosts tours such as the Harlem of the West Tour and the Down Town African American Tour. The Black Historical Society of San Diego offers the largest group of collections and others holdings of any black historical society in the United States. The Society also holds various photos and documents to help people in their research, as well as an independent black film collection, DNA testing, and much more. For visitors, the Society offers the Mabel Rowe gift store, which sells Afro-centric arts and figurines, as well as other items to celebrate African Americans' rich San Diego heritage. - Erick Pettersen
