    • Chicano Park stands out in more ways than one. Whereas most city parks are born of bureaucratic action, Chicano Park began with an act of civil disobedience in April of 1970. Its location (under the Coronado Bridge) and its murals are both striking. And on weekends, this is still an important community gathering place.
