Desert Garden - San Diego
  • Type: Picnics, Parks & Gardens
  • NileGuide Expert Says:

With their sculptural, and often anthropomorphological shapes, the various cacti give the garden impression of being on a fantasy planet. Just watch out for all those spines!

  • Description:

    • Desert Park is more than just another garden in the vast circumstance that is Balboa Park.  Adjacent to the Inez Grant Parker Memorial Rose Garden and Park Blvd, this relatively small attraction offers visitors a place to relax and enjoy the over 1,300 plants that are housed here. With it's peak bloom during the tourist off-season (January - March), visitors here are often few and far between, making it a home for the spontaneous. Open free to the public year-round, sniff out some of the delectable and intriguing plants that cover this 2.5 acres of land.
