Description:

  • This one-hour tour, which takes place every Tuesday and Sunday afternoon, explores Balboa Park's historical and botanical tapestries. A park ranger explains the historical relevance, cultural architecture, and beauty of the park. Tourists will learn about well-kept secrets, such as the location of a former nudist colony, where the park shootings occurred, the meaning behind the name of the House of Charm, and other hushed secrets. The park ranger begins the tour at the visitor's center, walks along the Prado, circles around one of their Spanish Colonial style buildings, and ends in front of Spreckels Organ Pavilion.
