  • Kid friendly restaurants are not hard to find in San Francisco. However, the trick is finding a kid friendly restaurant that the parents will enjoy as well. The best kid-friendly restaurants in San Francisco have fun food and a welcoming atmosphere. Any pizza or burger joint is going to be kid-friendly, but many other restaurants are child-compatible as well.

Diners are always great spots for cheerful interiors and large, flexible menus. Kids will certainly enjoy Mel's Diner (a California classic) or the aptly named Fog City Diner, conveniently located on the Embarcadero. After the farmer's market on Saturdays, Gott's is a great spot to get kids a delicious burger while you can enjoy garlic fries and regional wines.

Any of the 'Chow' restaurants in the city are ideal for kids, and the exceptional comfort food will woo adults. Foodie favorite gastropub Magnolia in the Haight district, while being a brewery, is great with kids and has a menu chock full of great options for them. including cookies for dessert. Pauline's in the Mission has great pizza and crayons at every table so the little ones can doodle on the white paper.

Upscale Luella declares Sunday night as kids night. They offer a special kids menu for young diners under the age of 10 while parents can nosh on modern California cuisine. An added bonus - Swensen's ice cream is a couple of blocks away.
