    • Camping within the limits of one of the densest cities in the United States? Why not? Rob Hill Campground lies within the Presidio, a former military fort at the southern end of the Golden Gate Bridge, and is isolated enough that you wouldn't even think you're in the city. The grounds have several spots with fire pits (and for the car camper, parking) restroom facilities, and hiking trails that lead off into the eucalyptus trees and to Baker Beach.
