Schmidt's

• Schmidt's is a German place from the same proprietors as the popular east-German restaurant Walzwerk, also in the Mission. At Schmidt's, the portions are smaller in a good way -- they're more manageable and don't make you want to pass out right after. They have a good selection of sausage, the Thuringer stands out in my mind. Cheese spaetzle deeply satisfies and the Wiener Schnitzel is served with a fried egg and capers. Pair it with a Warsteiner and you're good to go.
