• The Social Kitchen & Brewery opened up in early 2010 in a gutsy move to put a brewery back in this potentially cursed location in the Inner Sunset. Breweries in this spot haven't survived long over the past few decades. It's too early to say whether Social Kitchen & Brewery has staying power, but early reviews are positive, and the vibe is definitely inviting, with the long bar feeling more like a kitchen island to eat around than a sticky platform for pints. The food definitely takes its cues from the beer (brewed by Rich Higgins), and chef Rob Lam uses it as a prime ingredient in more than a few dishes.
