Firkin Tuesday features a unique cask of beer (traditionally called a firkin) tapped on hand pump and served in $3 imperial pints. Can't beat that!

  • Description:

    • From the outside, this brew-pub has the look and size of a warehouse. The interior, however, has been designed with comfort in mind. Tables and stools offer plenty of room to relax, while pool and darts are available if you feel more energetic. The cuisine here is a fabulous mix of Spanish, Basque, and Catalan dishes which make for an exotic feast. They go perfectly with a spicy pint of dark ale.

Good Beer. Why not good food?

    • You know...you should be able to have a nice beer and enjoy a quality meal... The beer here is very good, but I don't think they spend as much time and energy on their food!

Message from Thirsty Bear Brewing Company

The idea of brewing fresh, hand-crafted beers with authentic Spanish cuisine is the brainchild of Ron Silberstein, a former attorney turned Brewmaster, turned restauranteur! The Brewery and Restaurant are housed in a beautiful historic brick building directly across the street from the Moscone Center and the Yerba Buena Center for the Performing Arts (including the SFMOMA). Construction on the three-story facility began in December 1995. Ron's came to fruition with the first lusciously smooth pint of beer, poured in September 1996. The restaurant is the first brewpub in the United States to serve an authentic Spanish Menu. At ThirstyBear, Executive Chef Jessica Gorin incorporates some of the finest specialty ingredients from Spain, including manchego cheese, jamon serrano, chorizo sausage, olive oil, and piquillo peppers.
