  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Go just before sunset to enjoy the golden light of the evening over the Marin Headlands.

  • Description:

    • Just off the road to the Point Bonita lighthouse to the west of the Golden Gate Bridge, Rodeo Beach has a wild feel that belies its location only a few miles from the bridge. Beachgoers are a combination of surfers, local families, and some tourists. While it can be windy and cool, a short walk up the headland just to the north of the beach yields a panoramic view of the geography that makes the Golden Gate area justly famous around the world. There's also a marine mammal center nearby.
