Description:

  • South Park was constructed in 1855, by George Gordon an English entrepreneur. The oval shaped park in the SoMa neighborhood of the city, is at the center of a residential area with mansions and town houses surrounding it. It once had a windmill in the center which pumped water for the houses around it. South Park was the first park in San Francisco having paved streets and sidewalks. Just a few blocks away from AT&T stadium, several cafes offering French, Italian and Mexican fare encircle the small park.
