Description:
- The Tenderloin is the last frontier in San Francisco's race for gentrification. Filled with colorful characters including crack addicts, prostitutes, Vietnamese immigrants, working-class young adults, and mentally unstable homeless people, there is rarely a dull moment in the Tenderloin. The neighborhood is blessed with some of the best budget ethnic cuisine in the city. Indian restaurants line Jones St and Larkin St is officially dubbed Little Saigon for its variety of Vietnamese sandwich shops and pho options. Plenty of dive bars as well as posh lounges set up shop here as well, making it a great destination for bar-hopping nightlife. Stay alert on the dirty streets. A visit to the Tenderloin will expose you to the real underbelly of San Francisco.
