• Donation-based yoga has hit San Francisco! Another West Coast installment of the venerable Yoga to the People, with studios in New York and Berkeley, opened in San Francisco's Mission District in May 2009. Take the freight elevator up to the 5th floor of the unassuming industrial building. The studio opens before the rattling elevator doors with gleaming hardwood floors and nearly floor-to-ceiling windows that offer sweeping skyline views. Classes here are a Power Vinyasa flow; focus is on the breath, on awareness and on reconnecting. You won't encounter any snobbery or elitism here--just a bunch of people that want to feel good in their bodies. Classes are mixed levels, and held multiple times a day; check their website for times. Mats are available for rent.
