Has anyone ever done the drive from San Fran to LA? Any suggestions about route? Stops on the way? I appreciate any help- Thanks!

I-5 is more of a straight shot as opposed to 99. Highway 99 has the most "stops", but I would hardly consider Fresno and Bakersfield a place to be. There will be some good greasy American food in Fresno for sure though. Make sure you stop before hitting the Grapevine and get gas and water.

If you have some time, try Highway 1 -- the Big Sur and Central California coast is gorgeous. If you have less time, but don't relish the boring I-5 drive, try Highway 101 via San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara. There are a ton of fun things to do and great places to eat in each town.
