My favorite is Brandy Ho's on Columbus and Pacific. Big restaurant, great food, and right on the border of Chinatown and North Beach.

My favorite cheap Chinese is Henry's Hunan. There are multiple locations in downtown, SOMA, financial district. My other favorite is Bamboo Garden on Polk St at California St. Cheap and great quality, little known to the masses...

The House of Nanking always has a long line and the service is not great. But if you want some of the best Chinese food in town for a moderate price, this is the place to go.
