Depending upon how much time you have, you can walk through Chinatown & see Fortune Cookies being made, visit the Japanese Gardens in Golden Gate Park, take in tourist stuff & sea lions at Pier 39, watch ferries & eat at the Ferry Building, walk across the Golden Gate Bridge, eat chocolate at Ghiradelli Square, ride the trolley or cable cars, see King Tut at the De Young Museum, visit Alcatraz or Sauslito, see Beach Blanket Bingo. Eat at A16, Le Central.

I would do Alcatrass/Lambard/do a day if not more in napa preferably stay the night there. Check out pier 39 and just walk around coit tower/union square. The george lucas museum is pretty kool too n its set in a beautiful surrounding. Since its football season you might wanna catch a game at ATnT park too its a blast

Hi,I just returned from a wonderful day in San Francisco. Here a few of my suggestions.....Try the Hop On Hop Off Double Decker Bus. It goes all around SF with 20 stops. You should plan before hand where you want to get off and back on. I took a similar bus in DC and went around the route once and then decided were I wanted to get off. They have 2 day passes available and I think that would be the best way to go.
San Francisco offers great free walking tours. Go to
Be sure and visit Chinatown. My favorite restaurants there are Hunan Home's Restaurant one block off Grant St on Sacramento and R & G Lounge on Kearney St.
If you ride the cable cars...go a few blocks passed the start (lines are always too long there) they will pick you up anywhere along the line. Don't miss going to the Cable Car Museum...that is SF history.
Go to the top floor of the Grand Hyatt Hotel (one block from Union Sq) great place to have a drink and watch the sunset.
DO NOT MISS GOING TO BEACH BLANKET BABYLON-THAT IS SAN FRANCISCO!!! Many wonderful places to eat there in North Beach.
Hope you are not renting a car in San Francisco. It is a wonderful walking city....and parking is about $50 a day. Walk...take BART...take a bus.
Hope you have a wonderful time.
