One thing that makes SF really unique is the close proximity of nature to the city. I'd recommend a hike through the Marin Headlands, in either Gerbode Valley (http://www.nileguide.com/destination/san-francisco/things-to-do/gerbode-valley/411811?keywords=gerbode) or Tennessee Valley (http://www.nileguide.com/destination/san-francisco/things-to-do/tennessee-valley-trail/411703). If you want to stay on the SF side of the Golden Gate, try walking from Crissy Field to the bridge and back, or on the coastal trail from Lincoln Park near the Legion of Honor around to the Ocean Highway.

Or you can bike on Crissy Field, the first air field in SF and in Golden Gate Park where the Academy of Science and De Young Museum are located. Muir Woods is another great place for walking and picnic. Biking and walking in the Presidio are also very nice on a sunny day.
