if the weather is nice, al fresco dining is a great option of course. I'd suggest the Universal Cafe in the Mission for brunch/lunch, or Chez Papa in Potrero Hill for outdoor lunch or dinner.

Anywhere is good to eat in San Francisco in April! It can be one of the best times of year with mild weather and the absence of fog. The Park Chalet near Ocean Beach is a relaxed, outdoor option if it's warm. Cafe Flore in the Castro for breakfast/lunch. Any place that serves a rotating menu of seasonal ingredients is a sure bet, try Zuni Cafe, Starbelly, or Canteen for memorable meals.

April in San Francisco marks the start of Major League Baseball, the Cherry Blossom Festival, as well as other events. I recommend purchasing tickets to a Giants game and eating at the Gordon Biercsh restraunt on the Embarcadero.Good food and great beer that is brewed on premises..you can walk to the ball park from the restraunt in about 15 minutes. If you decide to go to the Cherry Blossom Festival there are numerous Japanese restraunts of god to excellent quality near Japantown. Here is a link for the SF events in April: http://san.francisco.eventguide.com/annual_events_overview.html
