San Jose del Cabo boasts a wide variety of accommodations, ranging from the large all-inclusive resorts that line the Playa Hotelera to smaller boutique bed & breakfasts, and the unpretentious but charming value-oriented options that are often found in the downtown area.
Situated near Punta Palmilla at the southwestern corner of San Jose's bay, One and Only Palmilla has been the gold standard of luxury in Los Cabos for over fifty years. Regularly ranked by travel magazines as the best resort in all of Mexico, Palmilla is the undisputed number one choice for discerning (and heavily solvent) travelers.
Las Ventanas Al Paraiso, or "The Windows To Paradise," is a close second. This opulently appointed Rosewood managed resort offers first-class accommodations and world-class seaside views from its advantageous location along the Tourist Corridor, with an exhaustive and clever amenities menu that includes a Department of Romance for visiting couples.
Cabo Surf Hotel is the area's best boutique option. Located on Acapulquito Beach, this little 22-room gem offers a superb mixture of exquisite Sea of Cortes views, great food from 7 Seas Seafood Grill, and a surf shop for board rentals. Dreams Los Cabos doesn't have quite the hip quotient of Cabo Surf, but scores plenty of points for their elegantly appointed suites, five-star amenities, and terrific Tourist Corridor location near Cabo Real Golf Course.
Casa Natalia is our fifth pick. This renovated historic home has become one of San Jose del Cabo's best boutique hotels, with gorgeous architecture, and beautifully landscaped grounds fringed with palm trees and waterfalls. Additionally, the onsite restaurant Mi Cocina, like 7 Seas, is one of the best in all of Los Cabos.
The golden sands of Playa Hotelera host many of San Jose's larger hotels, many of which are known for their all-inclusive plans. Among the most impressive and imposing are Grand Mayan Los Cabos, Barcelo Los Cabos Palace Deluxe, Royal Solaris, Hola Grand Faro Los Cabos, and Cabo Azul. Each of these beachfront behemoths has their own unique accents and signature touches, but they have in common a vast array of room types and price points, numerous quality on-site dining options, and spectacular Sea of Cortes views.
