Henry Coe Sampler - San Jose

  • Description:

    • This loop samples only a small corner of northern California's largest state park, but it should be enough to whet your appetite for further exploration of this magnificent area's rugged canyons, oak-studded ridges, and sky-scraping slopes. From the trailhead you ascend through stands of ponderosa pines, then drop steeply to Little Fork Coyote Creek. On Middle Ridge, you enjoy a long ramble until diverted by the Fish Trail, which drops into several canyons; an easy, shady walk that completes the circuit. Start at the visitors center on East Dunne Ave. Make a loop using the Monument Trail, Hobbs Road, Middle Ridge Trail, Fish Trail, and Corral Trail.
