• The Paseo de Diego is the perfect place for Saturday and Sunday bargain shopping for families. This wide pedestrian walk is the heartbeat of the Rio Piedras neighborhood. Begin strolling the Paseo at its base, where it connects with Avenue Juan Ponce de Leon. Here the shops consist of mainly small and family-owned stores with clothing, hardware and home goods. After several blocks, the Paseo climbs up leading directly into the center of Río Piedras.
