Whale Watching

NileGuide Expert Says:

Winter visitors to Puerto Rico should not miss the opportunity to view migrating humpback whales in Rincón. Outside peak whale-watching months, Rincón is always a charming beach town and one of the island's premier destinations for scuba, surfing, and a general good time.

Description:

From January to March, Rincón is a prime destination for humpback whale-watching. Whales are visible from the shore, but local charter, catamaran, and scuba tours offer up-close excursions. During these same months, Rincón is a world-renowned surfing destination. Outside of the winter, Rincón is a charming destination all in itself. Tucked away at the northeast corner of the island, Rincón is a striking contrast in beautiful Caribbean beaches, rolling hills, and, in the summer, overflowing mango trees. Rincón boasts guesthouses, bars, and restaurants to suit every need, but is decidedly more relaxed than San Juan, and much less developed than the northeast.
