The design of this appealing inn is a cross between something you'd find in Morocco and Switzerland -- molded white stucco interiors set off by carved wooden shutters and eaves. It might also be described as a Hobbit House -- anyone over 1.8m (6 ft.) tall might have to stoop, the ceilings upstairs are so low. Impressive renovations in 2007 make it appealing to those who like modern design. On a quiet street, La Raclette has a cozy seating area and a bar and restaurant downstairs. The public areas and the rooms have nooks and crannies and lovely modern art on display. Rooms have charisma, and they are remarkably private considering the small room sizes inherent in an old house like this. All bathrooms have jetted tubs. The hotel exudes a lot of warmth.
