503 Restaurante and Champagne Lounge

• You can't help but feel a bit hipper than you actually are sitting in this new Zona Rosa restaurant and lounge. Opened in late 2006, the 503 sushi restaurant and lounge offers an ultrachic blazing white interior that extends from the floor, to the walls, to the chairs, to the plates, to the tables. They're all pure white against a wall of windows. But it's the eight-roll sushi plates with unique items such as Icelandic caviar, eel, crab, and salmon mixed with Japanese mayonnaise, avocado, and carrots that are the main attraction. A sophisticated, non-sushi menu, including a delicious chicken breast stuffed with French Camembert cheese in a nut sauce, is also offered. And after 11pm on weekends, 503 transforms into a late-night and early-morning lounge with DJs and a decked-out international crowd. Since Code nightclub is next door, the custom is to start the night and end the morning at 503.
