- The Teatro Municipal 1 ยบ de Mayo is the most important theater in the city of Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz, Santa Fe province, Argentina. Depends on the City of Santa Fe, is located on the pedestrian street San Martin, the commercial center of the city, making it the heart of the cultural life of Santa Fe [1]. The theater began as municipal initiative to have a suitable building to the theatrical tradition of the city. The building was designed by architect Augusto Plou, its construction began in 1903 and took two years. The architectural taste of the time of its construction is reflected in the style of Louis XV that displays the building. One of the most significant details is represented by a group of sculptures by the sculptor Nicholas Gulli mounted on the facade, which has allegories of music and dance. At the same time stands inside a canvas painted by Nazareno Orlandi cancel. [1] Between 1971 and 1973, re-lighting an electronic computer and installed an air conditioner. It houses three rooms, the most wide-called Main Hall with capacity for 800 people; Leopoldo Marechal room has capacity for 250 people, and the third room is used for testing the ballet. It works here too the Theatre Museum, which opens up to the usual functions. [2] The building was remodeled in 2004, in preparation for the commemoration of the centenary of the institution, on May 25, 2005. [3] This Restoration was awarded the second prize in the Iberoamerican Exhibition Cultural Heritage Preservation. [
