The Plaza

The plaza is the heart and soul of Santa Fe and the American Southwest – dating back to the city's founding in 1610, four centuries of rich history grew up around this National Historic Landmark. Centered on a small open park and surrounded by some of the oldest buildings in the country including the Palace of Governors (now home to a new history museum) and San Miguel Mission, the plaza is also home to world-renowned galleries, museums and restaurants with a diverse international flair, as well as budget friendly hometown favorites like frito pies and peerless chile rellenos. © NileGuide
