The Brentwood Country Mart was created in 1948 as a Westside version of the Hollywood Farmers Market
, basically a locale that combined dining options and stores into one convenient location. Today the place remains a small, high-end shopping center with a great food court.
Stores and boutiques here include, among others: Sugar Paper, Calypso, Toy Crazy, Broken English (jewelry), James Perse, Malia Mills, Turpan, Post26, and of course the Brentwood General Store.
Food and drink options here are: Barney's Burgers, Caffe Luxxe, Farmshop, Frida Taqueria, Reddi Chick, Sweet Rose Ice Cream, and Edelweiss Chocolates,
In its early days, star power was harnessed to help market this place and many star-biz luminaries were also regulars here. The place continues to be a celebrity hot-spot, if only because so many famous people live nearby.
