NileGuide Expert tip:
Choose a night when they're teaching cueca (the national dance) to get an authentic taste of Chilean culture.
Description:
- La Chimenea is many things to many people. It has a long history in several locations in Santiago, having been serving up typical Chilean fare from seafood to cheeses to even choripapas (fries with little bits of hotdog on top) for some 50 years.
But in addition to the food and copious amount of beer served up here, there are midweek cueca (national dance of Chile) classes, DJ nights and loads of live music and themed events at this night-lively pub on a small side street just a few blocks from the Moneda (presidential palace). There are nights with trova (like troubadour) music and also wine tasting nights. - © NileGuide2013
