  • The Best of NileGuide
  • Santiago bars go from the see-and-be seen with tiny trendy cocktails in every shade of the rainbow masquerading as martinis, to variations on the national drink , the pisco sour, to beer by the pitcher or liter (thankfully, shared at the table), with pricetags to match. Uppercrust establishments tend to be sparse and modern, also well-lit, while the cheapest will have white plastic tables outside, even in the winter! Wine is in a class of its own, and tends to be enjoyed with food, and by the elite at a small set of winebars and other cozy establishments. Prices vary by neighborhood, with the cheapest options being downtown and in the cheaper part of Bellavista. Fancier neighborhoods will have more upscale surroundings, and prices to match.
