The Best of NileGuide
- Latin American food in Santiago is varied, but you'll have to do some hunting if you want to go further afield from many different kinds of Peruvian food, which definitely deserves sampling in many locales. You'll also find the occasional Argentine parrillada (grilled meat restaurant) or a Brazilian-themed restaurant, and a smattering of Cuban spots. Mexican food is not Santiago's strongest point, though you will find a few restaurants, generally around Barrio Brasil, and some are quite good. Despite the recent influx of Colombian immigrants, Colombian food has not yet made much of an inroad, though there are a couple of places that you can find Colombian fruit juices. A single Ecuadorean restaurant represents that nation, and thus far that's where Latin American food representation stops in Santiago, though we'd love to see more Venezuelan or Salvadorean food.
