Santiago attracts its share of upper-crust travelers, either on their way to one of the more luxurious spots on the north or south of Chile or here in Latin America's financial capital on business. They've laid down their needs, and the hotel industry has responded with first-class hotels including a couple of luxury hotel chains and some new boutique hotels used to dealing with a demanding and international clientele. In fact, some of the hotels are so well-lauded that travelers are known to come to Santiago knowing almost nothing about it, choosing the city on the basis of the excellente luxury hotels it offers.
