This monolithic apart-hotel may not be easy on the eyes, nevertheless it has garnered a loyal following owing to its congenial service, swanky environs, and reasonable rates. In the residential El Golf district, surrounded by a myriad of glitzy bars, shops, and restaurants, it's just a 15-minute Metro ride (El Golf Metro stop is just 100m from the hotel) to the downtown area. While the fusty decor and gloomy furnishings could do with a style injection, the spacious, well-appointed rooms are perfectly comfortable and salubrious. Because they have kitchenettes and a sitting area, they are also well suited for families with children. Bathrooms are functional, but rather clinical. A buffet breakfast is served in the cafeteria-style dining room. Check the website for great deals, with discounts for 3-night stays and alluring single room rates of less than $40 (£26) per night.
