Description:

Rishtedar has solid Indian food choices, from curries and lamb dishes to vegetarian options, and even some nouvelle presentations of some olf favorites, like paneer tikka. The restaurante is located just a few blocks from Santiago's main shopping and commerce strip on Providencia, and does brisk business both at lunch and in the evening. While the restaurant technically opens at noon, it's best to arrive at around 1:00 Pm and later if you're a naan eater, as the tandoor isn't truly fired up until that time.

The chef, Ram Singh is from Goa, and the offerings here are more pan-Indian to Northern Indian (no masala dosa, for example), and the breads are quite good. There are many appetizers to choose from (though not all may be available on any given day), and they do a good job of mixing complex flavors, and not just blasting you with spice. Sour, earthy and spicy are each well represented.

If you're budget conscious, you might want to split an appetizer and a meal, piling on some samosas or pakoras and nan with your meal, but ideally, come in a group so you can get several different dishes and try them all.

The restaurant has expanded and has some ten tables outside, as well as seating for many inside and upstairs.
