Description:

To many Chileans, there are two important soccer teams, Colo-Colo and La Universidad de Chile. For foreigners, the distinction may be lost, but on game days, you'll easily know who the people near you on the bus or metro are rooting for.

Learning about soccer in Chile, and specifically Colo Colo has gotten much easier, with the opening of the Museo Colo-Colo (Colo-Colo Museum)  is a recently inaugurated museum on the grounds of Estadio Monumental, the home of one of Chile's most popular soccer teams, Colo-Colo. It's located in the neighborhood of Macul, (closest metro Pedrero), on the site of the Estadio Monumental, a 47,000-seat stadium where many important matches are played.

There is memorabilia and team jerseys on display, and video footage of great plays in the team's history. The museum prides itself on being one that can make your kids love history, and if they love Chilean soccer, that's probably true. A gift shop on-site sells jerseys, banners and other essential Colo-Colo items.

Admission is cheaper during the week, at just 2,000 CLP, whereas it rises to 3,000 CLP on weekends and holidays For a guided tour of the stadium, you'll pay 4,000 CLP. The museum is open from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
