Naco
Naco is home to some of the richest developments in the city, with malls, bars, restaurants, stores galore.
The style is distinctly wealthier than the alternative Colonial Zone or Gazcue.
There is no shortage of things to do and eat, although it's not a very pedestrian-friendly area, most people travelling by car.
Restaurants, bars and clubs open and close down only to be reinvented with a new name to create that shine of newness and interest in the fickle public.
Presently in favour are the Cuchara de Madera for a sweet, gargantuan treat, la Dolcerie for an imaginative menu of tapas, Cane for a new take on Caribbean cuisine, and Chef Pepper for American style eating.
Make sure you take full advantage of all the discotecas at night time, after passing by the Lincoln to see the Dominican custom of parking your car, cranking up your music and having a drink and laughs with friends before a night out.
