    • Although it's within a 5-minute walk from the edge of Savannah's Historic District, the Sputnik-era architecture of this "hip hotel" makes it seem a world away. Originally built in 1964, it had degenerated into an outmoded, sunbeaten relic -- like something you'd expect along a dusty, sunblasted stretch of Route 66 -- until a radical overhaul turned its former seediness into something approaching high camp. Expect geometric patterns of bright, Mondrian-inspired primary colors, a indulgent staff of Australian or perhaps European hipsters at the reception desk, and a punk-rock perspective that's refreshing when compared to the historicity and propriety of Savannah's Historic District.

      good location to riverfront

    • staff was friendly & helpful. walking distance to downtown & to riverfornt area. Room was nice but could use a lil updating. would stay again
